The Executive Unit for IDPs Camps Management in Marib Warns of Torrential Floods in the Coming Hours

The Executive Unit for IDPs Camps Management in Marib Governorate has issued a warning about the risk of potential torrential floods that may affect several districts in the governorate over the coming hours and days. This warning is based on meteorological alerts regarding weather disturbances accompanied by heavy rainfall.

The Unit has called on all displaced families residing near flood channels or in old buildings at risk of collapse to immediately evacuate their homes and move, along with their valuable belongings, to elevated and safe locations away from flood paths.

It also cautioned against gathering to watch or film the floods, and strongly advised against attempting to cross floodwaters on foot or by vehicle, even if they appear shallow, due to the serious danger posed by sudden water surges.

The Unit emphasized the importance of exercising caution during rainfall, avoiding contact with power poles and wet electrical wires, and ensuring the power supply to homes is disconnected to prevent the risk of electrocution.

It’s worth mentioning that emergency contact numbers have been made available by the Executive Unit: -718129038 -733194704 -777574558
