The Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation has issued an urgent appeal to Yemen’s regional and international partners, governments, financial institutions, and international organizations to respond to the damage caused by the ongoing weather depression affecting several governorates across the country.
In its appeal, the Ministry stated:
“The weather depression has resulted in heavy rainfall, leading to floods and torrents that have caused severe damage to infrastructure as well as public and private property.”
It added:
“This critical situation requires immediate and comprehensive intervention to mitigate its impact, alleviate the suffering of affected citizens, and prevent further disasters that could result from potential rockslides.”
The Ministry affirmed its full readiness to provide all necessary facilitation to ensure that aid reaches those in need in the affected areas. It emphasized that a swift response would be deeply appreciated, expressing gratitude for the continued support to Yemen and its people during these challenging times.
