The Humanitarian Media Center (HMC), as part of the “Her Voice is Power” project, is pleased to announce the launch of its training program: “Gender-Focused Media Coverage of Gender-Based Violence.” This initiative aims to empower local female journalists in displacement camps with the skills to report sensitively on gender-based violence, produce impactful documentary content, and report the voices of displaced women through digital advocacy and innovative media platforms.
The Training aims to achieve the following Objectives:
1. A comprehensive understanding of gender-based violence (GBV): Introducing participants to its types, causes, and impact on women and girls in humanitarian camps.
2. Enhancing ethical journalistic skills: Enabling female journalists to cover issues of violence in a professional and ethical manner in accordance with international standards.
3. Producing documentary media content: Highlighting the experiences of women and girls in displacement camps and shedding light on their challenges.
4. Strengthening Digital Advocacy: Using digital media to launch awareness and advocacy campaigns that promote the rights of women and girls.
5. Raising Community Awareness and Enhancing Protection: Highlighting the voices of displaced women through innovative media platforms, contributing to positive change.
Program Features:
* 3-day intensive practical training led by experts in humanitarian media and gender.
* Opportunities to produce media reports and podcasts as part of a digital campaign titled “You Are Not Alone.”
* Technical supervision and support for producing impactful media content.
* Participation Certificate accredited by the Humanitarian Media Center.
Participation Requirements:
* A recent media graduate or a fourth-year student (media/journalism).
* Commitment to attending all training days.
* Willingness to participate in producing media materials after the training.
